To turn in your Photo Restoration (and later your Digital Hoax), you will create a NEW page in your Mahara portfolio. To do this, follow the same instructions you did to create your Breadth Page. (Found under Photo 1 > Mahara > Your Mahara Portfolio - Breadth Page.)
Call this NEW page something like "Photoshop Work." Add two images - the original (not restored) image as well as your finished, restored image. Change the titles to "Before" and "After." (Or some other variation - such as "Original" and "Restored.") MAKE SURE TO SHARE YOUR PAGE!!!! (Instructions for this are at the end of the Breadth page information.) For your Digital Hoax, you will be adding on to this page. You will add your original (source) images, then also add your final hoax. Choose one of the damaged photos below to download and restore. OR - if you have an old family photograph or found photograph that you would like to use, that would be even better! (I have to approve it first.) If you use a photograph you bring in, make sure to keep a copy of the original so that we can do a "before" and "after" post on Mahara. BEFORE downloading it, click on it to zoom in. This way it will be the high quality version. TO SAVE: hold down "control" then click on the zoomed-in photo. Click on "save as" then save the image to the desktop. Then drag the file into YOUR FOLDER on the dock. (Then delete the one on the desktop.) Open it in Photoshop by dragging the file into the blue Ps icon on the dock. In addition to what we've already learned about Photoshop, you can look at the "photoshop tools" document, below. Experiment! NOTE: YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE YOURSELF MORE UNDOs. The default is 20, but those get "used up" really quickly when you are clicking away with the spot healing brush, etc. You can give yourself up to 1000 undos by going to Photoshop > Preferences > Performance, then over to the right, change the History States slider to a much higher number (up to 1000.)
